On Sunday, 23rd November, 14 members of the SEZ Adventure Club took on Stage 6 of the Pekoe Trail, covering the 14.9 km route from Watagoda to Kotagala. The group set out early in the morning for what became a genuine test of endurance, teamwork, and determination.

From the very start, the hikers faced continuous rain and slippery ground. The wet, muddy conditions made the trail more demanding, but also added a sense of adventure to the day. Despite the cold and the steady climbs typical of the Hatton region, the team pushed through with focus and resilience.

This stage offered plenty of interaction with the communities along the trail—estate workers beginning their day, children heading to school, and villagers going about their routines. These encounters brought a lively, authentic feel to the journey.

Despite the challenging terrain, the group maintained a steady and supportive pace. Whenever someone encountered a difficult patch, others stepped in to help, ensuring everyone stayed safe across the slick slopes and shifting mist.

After several hours on the trail, the team arrived in Kotagala—tired, soaked, and covered in mud, but in high spirits. The tough conditions made the sense of achievement at the end even more rewarding.

Stage 6 delivered a blend of rain, scenery, community interactions, and solid teamwork, making it another memorable accomplishment for the SEZ Adventure Club.
