The Annual SEZ Carnival 2013 in Celebration of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (TUS)'s Salgirah Mubarak, went off in spectacular style allowing the Mumineen of Colombo to meet outside the Masjid Complex to relax, eat and have fun. [flagallery gid=28 name=Gallery] This year saw an impressive number of participants both in terms of Stall Holders and visitors, bringing in over a thousand Mumineen per day.

After all the buzz, the day had finally arrived for the 15 teams to take on each other for the coveted title of the "King of Speed". The format for the Prokarting Tournament was as follows. 30 Racers were put into 6 groups of 5 each The average time of the fastest 5 laps of each racer was taken as individual ranks (fastest average 1st) 20 racers were short-listed for the semi-finals and were put into 4 groups of 5 6 racers were then selected as the finalists from the 4 semi-final rounds The finals was a no-holds barred race! [flagallery gid=25 name=Gallery] The excitement was palpable from start to finish as all the racers put on a great show, giving even the spectators an adrenaline rush! The Winners: Rajsons - Huzaifa Jafferjee MSA Racing Team - Abdul Qadir Mustafa The SFGs - Juzer Nuruddin The event was graced by Luwai Bhai Saheb and Janaab Amil Saheb who awarded the winners.

The Shabab Karting Championship saw its official launch with the 15 teams participating in the tournament being officially welcomed. The event program and rules were given out to all the team owners and drivers. There was a small QA session where the teams were able to clarify all their queries about the format of the tournament. Q: Aali Qadr Mufaddal Maula (TUS) visit of Colombo from June 9th to 15th 2013

SEZ got the Azeem Sharaf to be at the forefront of Khidmat during the week long visit of Aali Qadr Mufaddal Maula (TUS). Partaking in the tanzeem of all bethaks and events that took place during Maula (TUS)'s stay, Khidmat Guzaars were responsible in making sure that all Mumineen (Colombo and Mehmaan) received the maximum Barakat in Deedar, Qadambosi & Zyafat Sharaf. The 1st Bethak took place in Saifee Villa on 9th June, where Maula (TUS) arrived at 11.00am and gave all Mumineen Deedar Sharaf and performed a short Bayaan. Thereafter, over 2,200 Mumineen received the Sharaf of Qadambosi, amongst which was held 7 Nikkahs, 4 Nisbats & 3 Hadiyats (Foreign Mumineen). The next Bethak was after Maula (TUS) returned from a Tafreeh in Bandarawela where Maula (TUS) gave the Sharaf of 20 Zyafats, amongst which Shabab also got this bountiful Naseeb. A handful of Khidmat Guzaars were also present to organize the Majlis, Zyafats and Qadambosis of all Jaffna Mumineen and Mehmaan. The tanzeem team were ever present during all Aali Qadr Maula (TUS) Namaz as well. The SEZ committee thanks all those who gave their time and energy in this Khidmat to ensure all plans were executed smoothly and Mumineen received the maximum Sharafs.

Q: Donation of Dustbins to Encourage Nazafat

As per the farman of Bewe Maula (TUS), SEZ took the initiative on the Eve of the Milad Mubarak of Maulana Ali ibne Abi Talib (SA), in promoting and encouraging cleanliness (Nazafat) by donating dustbins to be placed within the Burhani Park Complex. Q: Qaat Teams Receive Certificates from Syedi Taha Bhai Saheb Saifuddin DM

3 Teams for Qaat Removal in Yemen have been there and back for the Khidmat and Aali Qadr Maula has graciously given these Khidmat Guzaar with certificates of acknowledgement. They were distributed by Syedi Taha Bhai Saheb Saifuddin DM who was in attendance of the Shaadi of Mu Murtazabhai Sh Khuzaimabhai. [flagallery gid=26 name=Gallery]

Q: Do-It-Yourself IT Workshop

This event was recognized by one of its participants as "the 1st event in the taabudaat" for 1434H in Colombo, and there was a great response to kick off this unique and community-driven project. The idea behind this workshop was to help those without great exposure to technology to gain knowledge and confidence in using computers. All those who participated were 30 and above, showing that Mumineen are always willing to learn a new skill, recognizing that computer technology is going to be useful in many ways looking forward. Q: Qaat Free Yemen Project

As per the Farmaan of Ali Qadar Maula (TUS) mumineen from all over the world are gathering in Yemen to cut down Qaat trees. So far 140 Khidmat Guzaaro have made their way into Yemen to cut down 8000+ trees all over Yemen. The trees are on average 2-3 times a persons height and it takes 2-3 persons 30-45 minutes to cut down each tree. To be part of this massive project, a group of mumineen from Colombo have made their way to Yemen where mumineen are climbing the mountains everyday for their Khidmat.
