The Annual General Meeting took place at Queen's Cafe in Mt. Lavinia on the 5th of October and saw a participation of nearly 90 members. Beginning at 8pm with Tilawat e Quran by Mu Abdealibhai Sh Khuzemabhai, a brief but detailed report was given by the Secretary of SEZ, Mu Aliasgarbhai Sh Abdeali. A Total of 27 projects had been completed in the last year. After a financial report by Mu Juzarbhai Sh Nuruddin and Mu Mufaddalbhai Sh Yousufally, the members were treated to a delicious feast which brought the night to an end. On the Joyous Ocassion of the Birthday of Aali Qadr Mufaddal Maula (TUS), SEZ repeated the great success of 'Jinga Night 2012' in grand style by hosting the dinner this time in the historical Saifee Villa in Colombo. Q: Deedar of Aali Qadr Mufaddal Maula TUS

SEZ led the Tanzeem Committee in the early morning of the 5th of October at Saifi Villa. Mumineen stood in earnest to catch a glimpse of Aali Qadr TUS as his vehicle was taken around the garden. In the Midst of this Mufaddal Maula TUS did Karam ane Ehsan to a lucky few Mumineen who received Qadambosi Sharaf as well. Q: SEZ Swimming Meet 2013

Every Sri Lankan is cricket crazy, and this is true of the local Mumineen population as well. But another successful event organized by SEZ, allowed the locals to show off their skills in an entirely different sport. The Thurstan College Swimming Pool was packed with spectators and participants alike as friends and family took part in the variety of Swimming styles planned out. The occasion was graced by Janaab Amil Saheb Sh Yusufbhai Bhanpurwala and he cheered the swimmers as they battled it out to come out on top in the various events. Q: Jaffna Business Boom!

As per the Farmaan of Aali Qadr Maula (TUS), Mumineen are settling down in Jaffna and starting up new businesses and so far 11 families have settled down. A mini-workshop was organized by SEZ for these families to provide them with insights on how to improve their businesses so they can thrive in their individual fields. Mu Zohairbhai Sh Abbas Haiderally had taken great effort to make an impressive presentation, covering subjects such as marketing and financial management, useful knowledge in any business. A team of 7 other SEZ members accompanied him on this special workshop. A total of 11 participants that included 2 ladies who are in the tailoring and catering trade attended the workshop. The project was a great success and SEZ hope to have more workshops of this nature in the future, covering more topics and giving more detail oriented attention to individual businesses where possible. Q: Aali Qadr Mufaddal Maula (TUS) visit of Colombo from June 9th to 15th 2013

SEZ got the Azeem Sharaf to be at the forefront of Khidmat during the week long visit of Aali Qadr Mufaddal Maula (TUS). Partaking in the tanzeem of all bethaks and events that took place during Maula (TUS)'s stay, Khidmat Guzaars were responsible in making sure that all Mumineen (Colombo and Mehmaan) received the maximum Barakat in Deedar, Qadambosi & Zyafat Sharaf. The 1st Bethak took place in Saifee Villa on 9th June, where Maula (TUS) arrived at 11.00am and gave all Mumineen Deedar Sharaf and performed a short Bayaan. Thereafter, over 2,200 Mumineen received the Sharaf of Qadambosi, amongst which was held 7 Nikkahs, 4 Nisbats & 3 Hadiyats (Foreign Mumineen). The next Bethak was after Maula (TUS) returned from a Tafreeh in Bandarawela where Maula (TUS) gave the Sharaf of 20 Zyafats, amongst which Shabab also got this bountiful Naseeb. A handful of Khidmat Guzaars were also present to organize the Majlis, Zyafats and Qadambosis of all Jaffna Mumineen and Mehmaan. The tanzeem team were ever present during all Aali Qadr Maula (TUS) Namaz as well. The SEZ committee thanks all those who gave their time and energy in this Khidmat to ensure all plans were executed smoothly and Mumineen received the maximum Sharafs.
