The word Khidmat literally translated means “service not governed by reward” and every mumin has a yearning to do Khidmat of the Dawat to earn the Khushi and Dua of our Beloved Aqa Moula (TUS). What matters most is that there is something which scratches your itch and you feel the need to help others or do some community work or just spread the love and message of Aqa Moula (TUS). The word Shabab literally translated means “youth” however the concept of youth is not in age but the youthfulness you portray from within. There are certain Khidmats that are best done by youth and to bring all the youth of the community together in doing Khidmath.

On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Syedna Taher Saifuddin Saheb (RA) the Shababul-Eidiz Zahabi was established in 1962 in the office of Dawat. The Shababul-Eidiz-Zahabi Colombo was too established in 1962 (1382H).

The main activity of the Shababul-Eidiz Zahabi until recent times was the Carnival to mark the Salgirah Celebrations of our beloved Aqa Moula (TUS), however in the recent 15 years the activities have steadily increased with the strong commitment and dedication of its membership.

Some of the activities organized by Shababul-Eidiz-Zahabi are:

  • 16mi Raat Darees & Jaman organizing
  • Niyaz-E-Hussain in the month of Moharram each year
  • Ashara Ohbat Khidmat
  • Tanzeem Khidmath
  • Milad Carnival
  • Milaad Jaman
  • Ziyarat Tours to Karbala, Misr, Yemen, Shaam/ Baitul Muqaddas & Hindustan
  • Iftaar and Jaman serving at Qutbi Hall and Masjid during Ramazan
  • Eid ul Fitr Khaarak
  • ITS Card Scanning Khidmat
  • Muwasaat and Social Community work
  • Adventure Trips: Scuba Diving, Whale Watching, Horse Riding and etc
  • Ventures: Bohra Business Expo/ Seminars
  • FMB Distribution

Other projects:

  • Jinga Night (Seafood dinner)
  • Eid Ul Adha Breakfast
  • Thandu Karwanu Items
  • Recycling Waste Drive

and the list goes on.

This does not mean that Shabab members are all work and no fun. We do quite a few fun activities like organize various types of Adventure Trips such as Whale Watching, Camping, Scuba Diving etc.

We the hope and pray, Shababul-Eidiz-Zahabi with the support and commitment of its members carry out the task to obtain the Khushi and Dua Mubarak of our beloved Aqa Moula (TUS) and may Allah ta’ala grant Moula (TUS) a long and healthy life to direct and guide us to become eternal Khidmat Guzaars.
