On the 15th of January, Shababul Eidiz Zahabi Colombo orchestrated a successful hike, bringing together a group of 17 spirited adults and 7 adventurous kids. The day kicked off at 4:30 am as the team departed for Alagalla, embarking on a memorable journey filled with camaraderie and breathtaking views.

The group paused for Fajr prayers, fostering a sense of tranquility before indulging in a hearty breakfast. Subsequently, participants met with experienced instructors on-site, who provided valuable insights and briefed them on the best hiking practices.

High in morale, the team commenced the climb, reveling in the magical views that unfolded throughout the ascent. Upon reaching the summit, a moment of triumph was shared, with the kids leading the way. Lunch at the pinnacle marked a well-deserved reward for the hikers, refueling them for the descent.

As the group descended, fatigue set in, but the collective spirit prevailed. A stop for evening tea provided a much-needed break before the final stretch. By 10 pm, the exhausted yet exhilarated participants made their way back to Colombo, concluding an incredible 8.15 km journey with a 520 m elevation gain.

The hike lasted for 6.5 hours, during which the participants burnt over 850 active calories. The blend of physical challenge, breathtaking scenery, and shared accomplishment made this experience truly unforgettable for everyone involved.
