Shababul Eidiz Zahabi under the auspices of Umoor Kharejiyah, Umoor Dakheliyah and Umoor Taalimiyah proudly organized DAWOODI BOHRAS IN SRI LANKA: A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE – an enriching panel discussion exploring the early history of our community in Sri Lanka and honoring the distinguished legacy of Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA), Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA), and Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS).

The distinguished panel featured esteemed historians and community experts, including Sh. Yusuf Mamujee, Author of Gems of History, who shared invaluable insights into our heritage.

Key discussions included Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA’s zikr regarding the mumineen of Colombo in one of his letters, as well as the significant diplomatic relationships established between our Duat Mutlaqeen and the Sri Lankan Government.

The program witnessed meaningful participation from mumineen spanning from 8 to 80 years of age, who shared their cherished experiences and posed thoughtful inquiries about the profound connections between our Duat and Sri Lanka and its people.

A testament to the enduring bonds of faith, history, and community that continue to strengthen across generations.

SEZ Colombo hopes to organize more events exploring the history of the community in Sri Lanka.
